to support a government customer in Washington, DC.
Work location:
Onsite - Washington, DC (Monday - Friday).

This role will play a critical role in restoring and validating backend data integrity across mission-critical systems, with a strong focus on DoS ECA managed applications. This position is essential to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of both on-premises and cloud-based database environments, particularly Amazon RDS. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle technologies, including Oracle Wallet, and a strong commitment to cybersecurity best practices aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Key Responsibilities
Restore and validate backend data integrity across enterprise systems Ensure database security, availability, and performance in accordance with NIST Cybersecurity Framework Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of Oracle databases Monitor and tune database performance to meet SLAs and optimize resource usage Manage backup and recovery operations to ensure data resilience Lead data migration and bulk data load efforts across environments Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code to support custom application development Administer cloud-based databases (Amazon RDS) and integrate with on-premises systems Troubleshoot and resolve database issues for internal users and external clients Assist in planning, designing, and implementing new database solutions Implement and manage Oracle Wallet configurations for secure credential storage Stay current with all actively supported versions of Oracle Database Required Qualifications
BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline 5+ years of experience in database administration, preferably in government or enterprise environments Proficiency in Oracle Database (all supported versions), SQL, PL/SQL Experience with Oracle Wallet and secure credential management Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS or other cloud database services Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization Familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework and secure database design principles Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and provide effective solutions Ability to successfully complete a government issued background check Active Secret clearance Preferred Skills
Experience supporting custom application development teams Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments Familiarity with monitoring tools and automation frameworks Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Benefits
