Sr. Director, Product Management, Developer Experience – Autonomous Deployments (PXDP65) at Capital One. This role centers on empowering developers by transforming how software is released, leading the Autonomous Deployments initiative to automate testing, separate deployment from release with feature flags, automate approvals, and provide production-readiness insights. The goal is to enable "no fear" autonomous releases, accelerate time-to-market, free up developer time, and improve application stability. The ideal candidate is a technology-driven leader who empathizes with developers delivering high‑quality software at scale. Responsibilities

Develop and champion a bold, long-term product strategy for Autonomous Deployments, connecting the vision to improvements in release velocity, application stability, and developer productivity across the enterprise. Build, lead, and mentor a world-class team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and execution excellence focused on solving complex developer challenges. Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for intelligent, automated validation capabilities that build developer confidence and reduce reliance on manual testing. Partner with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and lines of business to ensure solutions meet complex quality, security, and operational needs. Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators that measure the impact of autonomous deployments (e.g., release velocity, change failure rates, developer satisfaction). Work across the company to reimagine and design solutions that may defy organizational boundaries, fostering a rapid test-and-learn approach. Be accountable for identifying and managing platform investments and key risk decisions to deliver a well-managed platform enabling higher quality and more resilient applications. At least 9 years of experience in Product Management. Current status or active pursuit of one of the following with an expected degree by start date: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field). Master's Degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a quantitative concentration. Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams of product managers. Experience with developer platforms, DevOps tools, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, or large-scale enterprise platforms for internal developer customers. Deep expertise in the modern software development lifecycle (SDLC), including release engineering, progressive delivery, quality assurance, and automated testing principles. Proven ability to translate complex business strategy and technical challenges into a clear, data-driven product roadmap. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams (engineering, design, risk management). Excellent communication skills with a track record of engaging and influencing senior executives. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated. Locations listed: Chicago, IL; McLean, VA; New York, NY; Plano, TX; Richmond, VA. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
