Jones Day . The Media Communications Manager is responsible for outreach to varying audiences with both proactive and responsive messaging through news, digital, and social media channels. This role will focus on executing news media activities, managing press relations and inquiries, and optimizing the Firm’s social media presence. Responsibilities
Execute news media activities, manage press relations and inquiries, and optimize the Firm’s social media presence across channels. Coordinate messaging to multiple audiences with timely, accurate communications and uphold the Firm's external communications strategy. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher. Master’s degree a plus. Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in public and media relations. Professional services sector required; law firm experience strongly preferred. Experience with social media platforms and messaging. Experience with employee advocacy programs and Wikipedia editing a plus. Cultivated significant media relationships with reporters and editors at business, legal, and financial publications. Broadcast business media contacts a plus. Experience with media analytics and contact databases (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Trendkite, or Roxhill) and preferred marketing work management systems (e.g., Sprinklr or Workfront) a plus. Compensation and Benefits
Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting pay scale for this Chicago position is $150,000 - $180,000.
