Summary
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Facilities and Asset Management (OFAM) Senior Communications Specialist shall serve as the lead for providing intra-governmental partners with the information necessary to champion the planning, construction, and maintenance of various physical components designed to help the USBP and AMO fulfill its primary homeland security mission.
Candidates must reside in one of the following locations: Washington, D.C.; Euless, TX; Aliso Viejo, CA; or Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities
Equip intra-governmental partners with the information necessary to champion the planning, construction, and maintenance of physical components to support the USBP and AMO in fulfilling their primary homeland security mission.
Support the development and implementation of communications strategy and outreach plans, and coordinate information dissemination and stakeholder outreach.
Oversee and ensure accurate content of the PMO SharePoint homepage; identify opportunities to inform key internal and external stakeholders of the PMO’s accomplishments; provide strategic support for communication and outreach activities; ensure timely and accurate information is disseminated to CBP and PMO stakeholders.
Draft, edit, and disseminate information and materials relating to PMO activities, program successes, project inaugurations, and significant developments.
Oversee the timely production and distribution of the PMO’s weekly highlights; consolidate PMO-wide communications items; maintain an ongoing list of past and potential communication items.
Draft speeches, remarks, talking points, award justifications, statements, graphics, and related documents for PMO leadership; develop content for presentations and communications for hearings and inquiries; assist with annual expenditure planning.
Serve as the outreach liaison to CBP offices and PMO service providers; attend meetings, develop materials and responses to inquiries, and coordinate high-profile events; develop SOPs for events.
Develop recommended responses to ad-hoc inquiries from the public, media, and others about PMO Facilities; support public outreach meetings with materials and onsite support.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications or equivalent.
Eight (8) or more years of experience required.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must have or be able to obtain a CBP Public Trust.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Pay and Benefits
