Overview

Medical Science Liaison, Cardiovascular (Tennessee and Kentucky) Role at Bristol Myers Squibb. The MSL is responsible for identifying disease and product related medical needs in a defined geography, developing and maintaining relationships with Thought Leaders and Healthcare Providers, and facilitating scientific exchange to support medical education, data generation, insight generation and patients' access to medicine. Tennessee, Kentucky Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders within a geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR related questions. Use various channels for interactions (1-on-1, group presentations, remote, etc.). Demonstrate proficiency in using available scientific resources and presentations. Effectively present information to TL/HCPs and respond to questions with medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines. Actively assess the medical landscape by meeting with TLs/HCPs/Access Stakeholders to understand needs and expertise. Update knowledge on treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, HEOR and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and evolving healthcare models and address informational needs of customers. Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives, collaborative research projects, and investigator-sponsored research (ISR) aligned with BMS strategic objectives. Attend medical congresses and local/regional meetings. Collect and provide meaningful medical insights to support strategy development and business decisions. Contribute to the Medical Plan

Develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL Interaction plans based on therapeutic area objectives and TL needs. Adopt institution/account planning approach and contribute to cross-functional institution/account plans. Contribute to development and delivery of scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects in line with local Medical and Field Medical plan. Provide Medical Support

Establish a customer-centric, compliant collaboration with cross-matrix field teams within assigned geography. Provide medical/scientific area and product-specific training and key scientific updates to internal stakeholders (e.g. Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Legal, HEOR, Value Access & Payment). Provide scientific support at promotional meetings by presenting scientific and clinical data, evaluating speakers, and supporting BMS-contracted speakers (if applicable). Participate in assigned Congress activities. Support Clinical Trial Activities

Support Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (NIR) studies to facilitate patient recruitment and discussions around safe and effective use of BMS investigational products, as defined by study scope. Provide recommendations to clinical development on study/site feasibilities based on field knowledge and investigator contacts. Support HCPs in ISR submission and execution process and study follow-up as agreed with home office medical and GDO. Ensure Pharmacovigilance procedures are understood and applied by investigators; alert BMS personnel to adverse events. Actively support CRO-sponsored studies as defined by study scope. Qualifications & Experience

Required Experience: MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with experience in a specific disease area or broad medical background and relevant pharmaceutical experience. Knowledge Desired: disease area knowledge; understanding of scientific publications; knowledge of clinical trial design and process; knowledge of national healthcare and access environment; knowledge of HEOR concepts; excellent English language skills (spoken and written). Experience Desired: minimum 2 years in clinical/pharmaceutical environment; prior MSL experience; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to translate scientific data for physicians; strong communication and presentation skills; ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships; quick learner of new subject areas; demonstrated BMS values. Essential Qualification: ability to drive a company-provided car and travel between locations; high ethics, integrity and safe driving history. Travel Requirement: travel required; field-based; live within the territory or within 50 miles of borders; majority time in field with external customers; flexibility based on territory and team needs. Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Overview: Field - United States - US $161,250 - $195,401. The starting range is listed for full-time employees; additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available.
