Seneca’s Unconditional Education HEART Program partners with Hayward Unified School District to support students and families through difficult times. The HEART program offers Counseling Enriched Classrooms (CEC) on 7 Hayward School District campuses, with teams of Mental Health Counselors, Teachers, and Therapists. Services include individual, family, and group therapies, along with behavioral systems that emphasize positive reinforcement and incentives. The program focuses on a strength-based, relational, behavioral, and ecological approach. About Seneca

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to deliver integrated support Build therapeutic relationships that help students engage and achieve personalized goals Support academic instruction by assisting with individual and group activities as directed Implement classroom modifications and accommodations based on IEPs and other plans Deliver direct behavioral intervention that reduces behaviors impeding success and promotes positive behaviors for learning Communicate effectively with families and other involved programs or agencies Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure effectiveness, inform team decisions, and support billing Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques per Seneca training Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree with 1 year of applicable experience OR High school diploma/GED with 2 years of applicable experience Applicable experience can include work with youth or families, classroom or mental health settings, crisis support, or academic support At least 21 years of age Reliable transportation to and from school sites and occasional meetings TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any state/federal licensing or certification requirements Schedule
School-based schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Benefits
