Overview
Lead Compensation Consultant State of North Carolina This role is with the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) Total Rewards team. The position focuses on compensation program modeling, labor market analysis, classification, position management, and project leadership to maintain the statewide compensation system. Responsibilities
Designing and delivering online, virtual, and in-person classification and compensation training. Analyzing labor market data and providing accurate data to comprehensive labor market surveys in compliance with state privacy safeguards. Designing new jobs and/or modifying existing jobs based on evolving work, legislative mandates, or labor market best practices. Providing consultation and technical support on organizational design, education, and experience patterns related to career levels and internal equity issues. Providing consultative support to team members regarding compensation and classification processes, programs, and policies, including technical assistance on organizational design and internal equity matters. Collaborating with the OSHR Data Team to ensure accuracy and consistency of all compensation-related metrics. Leading large-scale statewide projects to research, analyze, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to compensation program processes, quality controls, and reporting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and macros. Working knowledge of job evaluation systems and HR policies and procedures related to classification, compensation, salary administration, and position management. Knowledge of FLSA and other related federal laws impacting classification and compensation. Experience analyzing and interpreting HR laws, regulations, policies, and practices. Experience creating and presenting training presentations that convey technical content to HR professionals. Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field from an accredited institution, and 5 years of experience required; or high school/GED and 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
