Responsibilities

Identifies, develops and promotes stories (including on social media) in collaboration with DUA leadership and University communications teams; lines up writers, secures approvals, and helps the media relations team identify targeted media outlets.

Supports leadership by drafting remarks for speaking engagements.

Designs, develops, and coordinates collateral for appeals and events, including comprehensive campaigns and annual reports, in collaboration with designated departments staff.

Leads the email marketing strategy within alumni and donor relations, and uses digital tools to enhance engagement, stewardship, and campaign outreach.

Supports and manages the development, build, and distribution of dynamic monthly email content, including an alumni e-newsletter, through Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Strategizes, plans, develops and executes marketing and communications campaigns; maintains editorial and project calendars; reviews copy and creative; collaborates with teams to troubleshoot challenges.

Works with the web team to maintain and update websites; manages social accounts to build audience and engagement.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations.

Required Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years of related marketing communications experience in advancement-related functions (fundraising, foundations, not-for-profits, alumni and constituent engagement, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Related marketing communications experience within a major, comprehensive fundraising campaign.

Project management experience.

Account management experience.

Strong written and oral communications.

Familiarity with project management software such as Asana.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML/web design.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent written and oral communication; ability to tell compelling giving stories.

Strong project and account management skills; highly organized with attention to detail.

Ability to coach, persuade and negotiate with senior leadership; adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position.

Policies and Other Information

This is not a supervisory position and does not have financial responsibilities.

This role does not require driving and does not involve a purchasing card (P-Card) or travel.

Background Check: Standard Enhanced; final candidates will consent to a criminal background investigation as per USG policy.
