Overview The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. Acquires and maintains knowledge of products represented. Serves, demonstrates, intercepts consumers and sells products in a professional manner. Responsible for the Event execution equipment in the stores. Maintains an overall professional appearance consistent with the requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

Management and maintenance of the equipment and supplies used for events to ensure they are clean and secured in the agreed upon area of the backroom.

Communicate with store management about upcoming events and the execution of past events when Supervisor is absent.

Act as the point person for all events conducted in the store in the Supervisor’s absence; assist other Event Specialists with event kits, materials and tools as needed.

Provide leadership and knowledge to the team in support of the Supervisor’s efforts.

Acquire adequate knowledge of the products represented and clearly communicate features and benefits to consumers.

Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell products to the consumer in a positive manner.

Assist/perform all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program; maintain a clean, sterile and safe work station; follow food safety guidelines for sample preparation.

Prepare and serve food samples (including raw meats, produce and eggs) using small appliances (microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, knives) safely and hygienically.

Set up and prepare the Event Table for execution and maintain a professional appearance.

Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives; complete expense reports and on-line requirements on the day of event.

Document success stories with digital photos of the event setup as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

Proficient use of personal computer and mobile device with applications and internal systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Food Safety Professional Certification, Local Food handler permit if required.

Physical Demands:

Stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear; read instructions; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including a 6’ ladder); lift/carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds); push/pull a wheeled cart; handle raw foods with cooking utensils; contact with cleaning supplies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Point of contact when Supervisor is absent.

Working Conditions:

Retail store environment with limited travel.

Language Skills:

English primary; bilingual may be required based on business necessity.
