Marathon Petroleum Corporation . The Territory Manager role is an individual contributor and reports to the Western Mountain Region - Commercial Market Manager Southwest. This position is home-office based in the state of Arizona with preference for the Phoenix area. This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial business relationship with existing branded and unbranded customers to enhance MPCs position as a preferred supplier. This includes conducting face-to-face meetings, negotiating contracts, addressing customer concerns in a timely manner, communicating market supply conditions, facilitating resolution of back-office issues, and following up on customer-related requests inside and outside of the organization. Develop and implement strategies to increase MPC market share and grow commercial value in assigned market areas by understanding customer needs, market dynamics, competitive offerings, and MPC strengths to create programs that capitalize on opportunities. Prospect new branded and unbranded customer accounts and develop new business within existing customer relationships to enhance corporate value. Match customer needs to MPCs offerings and capabilities through commercial offerings aligned with the territory strategy. Regularly conduct strategic reviews of contracts, negotiate favorable renewals, and facilitate contract administration through internal back-office systems. Lead or participate in market development projects and communicate program information to internal and external partners. Projects may include asset changes, product offerings, program execution, and sales or marketing initiatives to drive corporate value. Collect and disseminate market intelligence to inform decisions for internal partners, including detailed market knowledge where relevant. Drive and support process improvements that create internal efficiencies or reduce transactional or administrative costs for customers, including CRM enhancements and customer portal updates. Maintain a broad understanding of industry issues, regulation, economic conditions, business outlooks, and MPC strengths and weaknesses by market. Actively participate in industry associations, conferences, internal meetings, and customer events. Education And Experience
Two (2) years of industry-related experience required Bachelors degree required Skills
