The Territory Manager role is an individual contributor and reports to the Western Mountain Region - Commercial Market Manager Southwest. This position is home-office based in the state of Arizona with preference for the Phoenix area. This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial business relationship with existing branded and unbranded customers to enhance MPC's position as a preferred supplier. Develop and implement strategies to increase MPC market share and grow commercial value in assigned market areas. Prospect new branded and unbranded customer accounts as well as develop new business within existing customer relationship with a goal of enhancing corporate value. Regularly conduct strategic reviews of all contracts, negotiate favorable contract renewals that add value. Lead and/or participate in market development projects and communicate associated program information to internal and external business partners. Collect and disseminate market intelligence to benefit decision making for internal business partners. Drive and support business process improvement ideas that create internal process efficiencies and/or reduce transactional or administrative costs for customers. Maintain a broad understanding of industry issues, government regulation, economic conditions, business outlooks, commercial and consumer needs, and MPC competitive strengths and weaknesses by market. Actively participate in industry associations, conferences, internal department meetings, and customer events. Education and Experience
