Manifold Bio is seeking a creative and driven Scientist, Antibody Engineering to join our protein engineering team and advance the next generation of targeted therapeutics. In this role, you will drive comprehensive antibody screening and optimization programs from initial characterization through therapeutic development. You will execute sophisticated library-based antibody characterization methods, leverage our proprietary mCode technology for massively parallel in vivo screening, and lead affinity maturation efforts to optimize binding kinetics and other critical therapeutic properties of our antibody candidates. You will be a key contributor to our therapeutic pipeline, generating datasets that inform cross-functional program teams and support both internal therapeutic development and strategic partnership initiatives. You will work with an interdisciplinary team of experimental, computational, and hybrid scientists in a culture that values scientific boldness and teamwork to solve challenges in targeted drug delivery. Responsibilities Execute library-based as well as standard antibody characterization workflows Design and lead in vivo screens leveraging the mCode protein barcoding technology to identify antibodies with optimal tissue targeting capabilities Lead affinity maturation campaigns to optimize binding kinetics, specificity, stability, and other therapeutic properties through rational design and selection Develop and optimize high-throughput screening assays and workflows to support antibody discovery and engineering across multiple therapeutic targets Analyze complex screening datasets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate findings into actionable insights for program advancement Required Qualifications PhD or equivalent experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, biological engineering, or a related field 2+ years of industry experience in therapeutic antibody engineering including affinity maturation and library-based biomolecule engineering (e.g., phage display, yeast display) Proficiency in standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (cloning, protein characterization) Preferred Qualifications Yeast display Developability characterization and engineering Computational skills with experience in NGS data and sequence analysis Experience with bispecific or multispecific antibodies, format engineering Experience with brain shuttles Experience with display technologies (phage, yeast, ribosome) Familiarity with SPR/BLI Experience with computational protein design or engineering methods; experience with automation and high-throughput screening This Role Might Be Perfect For You If… You are curious and passionate about science and drug discovery and want to work with a fast-moving team that values boldness and innovation.
