HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Fleet Support Engineer, Chassis and Active Suspension Systems to join its team as the primary technical point of contact for real-time escalations related to chassis, suspension, and vehicle dynamics. In this role, you’ll ensure the uptime and reliability of the fleet, with a focus on chassis and active suspension systems. We’re looking for a technical expert who excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting troubleshooting processes, and providing immediate, impactful support for daily fleet operations. Responsibilities
Conduct root cause analyses and implement interim and permanent corrective actions. Diagnose and resolve issues related to ride quality, vehicle stability, and suspension performance. Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides for chassis and suspension components to support knowledge sharing. Validate and perform component and vehicle bring-up/functional verification procedures. Tune and validate suspension control parameters to optimize performance and ride comfort. Analyze fleet datasets to proactively identify systematic issues and recommend preventative actions. Support night and weekend shifts as needed (with advanced notice). Travel occasionally to support operational sites. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering 2+ years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, focusing on chassis or suspension systems Ability to pass a background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, and drug screen Compliance with Substance Abuse Policy required Experience debugging Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) issues Hands-on experience with chassis systems such as suspension, steering, and braking Strong knowledge of active/semi-active suspension technologies (adaptive dampers, air springs, hydraulic systems) Proficiency in vehicle dynamics and control systems Skilled at interpreting electrical schematics, harness diagrams, and state machine diagrams Ability to safely troubleshoot low- and high-voltage systems Holistic problem-solving mindset—able to diagnose issues from vehicle-level to component-level detail Strong communicator and collaborator, effective in fast-paced, real-time support environments Preferred Qualifications
Experience with suspension simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ADAMS) Knowledge of electric vehicle technology Familiarity with Linux and Python for fleet-level data processing Experience with GPS/RTS debugging and remote vehicle troubleshooting Knowledge of CAN bus messaging for chassis and suspension systems Experience with automotive diagnostics tools Benefits
