Overview
We are looking for a dedicated
Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer
to support our clients within the water and wastewater infrastructure industry. This position offers the opportunity to design, implement, and optimize automation systems that ensure the reliable and efficient operation of water treatment and wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in control systems engineering and a passion for environmental sustainability. Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Design and implement instrumentation and control systems for municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment plants. Prepare control system documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and wiring schematics. Select and specify field instrumentation (flow, pressure, level, analytical sensors), control valves, PLCs, RTUs, and HMIs. Coordinate integration of SCADA systems, including configuration and programming. Support field commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting of I&C systems. Collaborate with process, electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers on multidisciplinary projects. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, as well as industry best practices and safety standards. Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of relevant experience in instrumentation and control systems, preferably in water/wastewater projects. Proficiency with PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX). Strong knowledge of field instrumentation and control systems design. Experience with control panel design and UL standards is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software. PE license or EIT certification preferred (or ability to obtain). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Location: Denver, CO (as applicable to the original posting). Employment type: Full-time.
