We are seeking a seasoned
Head of Accounting
to lead our U.S. finance operations. You will own the full accounting cycle, safeguard the integrity of our multi-state, multi-entity general ledger, and develop scalable controls for a transaction heavy environment that supports a portfolio of high volume race events. Responsibilities
Oversee day to day accounting, monthly close, consolidations and audited annual statements. Manage and mentor a small team of senior accountants and bookkeepers; set clear objectives and foster professional growth. Controls & Compliance Design and enforce internal controls for a high volume Accounts Payable (AP) function, ensuring accurate, timely vendor payments and proper coding. Maintain compliance with accounting standards, multi-state sales & use tax, and income tax filings; liaise with external auditors and tax advisors. Cooperate with budget manager on budget building and reconciliation. Process Improvement Streamline workflows and leverage automation to reduce manual entry and error risk. Implement KPI dashboards for AP aging, cash forecasting and event level profitability. Strategic Partnership Provide timely financial insights to the CFO and Event Operations teams to support budgeting, pricing and vendor negotiations. Participate onsite at select race weekends (1-2 trips per year) to understand operational drivers and strengthen cross functional relationships. Required Qualifications
CPA license (active and in good standing). Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s a plus). 5–10 years
of progressive U.S. accounting experience
including at least 5 years managing people . Demonstrated success overseeing high volume AP, establishing robust internal controls and preparing audited financial statements. Proficiency with mid market Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, Ramp and advanced Excel / data analytics skills. Working knowledge of multi-state sales and income tax rules. Exceptional organizational skills and a process improvement mindset. Preferred & Cultural Pluses
Passion for health, wellness, running or endurance sports; comfort working in an event driven culture. Experience in consumer events, hospitality, sports, or e-commerce. Familiarity with project or event based or project accounting. What We Offer
