Overview Accounting Manager (Permanent or Temporary) Location: Baltimore, MD (North of Downtown) Compensation: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary On behalf of our non-profit client, we are seeking an

Accounting Manager

to oversee key accounting operations and support the Assistant Controller. This role ensures accuracy and timeliness across invoicing, reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support, while strengthening internal controls and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing

Manage cash receipts and monitor outstanding balances

Prepare journal entries and complete monthly/annual reconciliations

Oversee accounting for fixed assets and leases

Partner with leadership to improve AP, AR, and GL processes

Lead preparation of audit schedules and support year-end financial audits

Provide timely, professional responses to internal and external inquiries

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior non-profit experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, and close processes

Proven ability to manage high-volume work with accuracy and deadlines

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required); experience with cloud-based systems preferred

Hands-on experience with SAGE Intacct, Bill.com, and/or ADP a plus

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

$60– $70.00 per hour, depending on experience
