We are seeking a highly skilled Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Engineer - Level III to join our team supporting advanced inspection and material evaluation efforts in Bethesda, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

Apply deep expertise in nondestructive testing methods, industry and military standards, and provide engineering insights into testing design, implementation, and evaluation.

Contribute to technical decision-making and lead NDE efforts across research, development, testing, and maintenance environments.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics discipline.

Required Experience

Shall have professional knowledge measured by capabilities listed within the resume of Navy and commercial Nondestructive Testing & Evaluation (NDT&E) specifications including:

Nondestructive Testing Methods (NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010-271)

Nondestructive Testing Acceptance Criteria (MIL-STD-2035)

Personnel Qualification and Certification in Nondestructive Testing (ASNT SNT-TC-1A)

Nondestructive Examination Requirements (NAVSEA 250-1500-1)

Nondestructive Examination Requirements for Special Applications (MIL-STD-2132)

Subject matter expert with a minimum of seven years of experience in concepts, practices and theories of one or more NDT&E methods including visual testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, eddy current testing, phased array UT, eddy current array, computed tomography, computed radiography, digital detector array radiography, acoustic emission, infrared thermography, terahertz imaging, or full matrix capture.

Working understanding of the engineering/research design process with experimental design and trade-off studies.

Desired Education And Experience

Master’s Degree in Engineering or Physics.

Nondestructive Testing (NDT) certifications to NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 or ASNT methods are preferred.

Experience evaluating risk with NDT decisions for conformity to specifications and non-standard applications; familiarity with probability of detection (POD) methodologies (MIL-HDBK-1823A) or similar.

Familiarity with modeling and simulation of NDT.

Clearance Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation Salary range: $110,323.71 - $165,485.57 (annualized USD). This range represents standard pay for this role and is one component of the total compensation package.
