Base pay range $180,000.00/yr - $210,000.00/yr
Overview Our client is looking for a Principal Engineer to lead on projects out their Houston office. This role will involve leading the high voltage engineering group with duties including high voltage system design, field engineering development, and design management.
Responsibilities
Develop and improve engineering standards and design documentation for substation and transmission systems, including conceptual layouts, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Lead technical design efforts for high voltage systems, contributing to equipment selection, protection schemes, routing strategies, and system performance analysis.
Manage design quality by reviewing engineering deliverables, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with project goals and industry standards.
Conduct field assessments and provide technical solutions to support project execution and resolve design or construction challenges.
Qualifications
8+ years of high voltage experience. Ideally including Substation and Transmission design, and grid connection engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's degree preferred.
Experience with software such as ETAP, PLS-CADD, SEL, PSCAD and AutoCAD.
