Here are some interesting facts to help you get to know Better : We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and execution-focused Vice President to lead Primary and Secondary Capital Markets at Better. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for managing our, rate table trading, secondary market execution, mortgage loan hedging, and investor relationships. You will also play a critical role in shaping pricing strategy and optimizing the economics of our mortgage pipeline. As a key member of the Finance leadership team, you will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Executive stakeholders to ensure our capital markets infrastructure supports our growth trajectory while maintaining disciplined risk management. Responsibilities
Oversee the daily management of locked loan pipelines, pricing strategies, and secondary execution. Lead strategy and execution for whole loan sales, securitizations, and mortgage servicing rights (MSR) transactions. Drive pricing strategy for retail and partner channels using market analytics, competitive intelligence, and elasticity modeling. Oversee hedging activities, including TBA execution and risk management, ensuring accurate pipeline coverage and compliance with risk limits. Collaborate with Growth team on rate table pricing and loan trading Collaborate with Partnership team on Correspondent and Wholesale pricing Develop market segmentation models and lead experimentation to optimize pricing and improve unit economics. Own relationships with key investors, GSEs, and trading counterparties; lead onboarding and due diligence processes. Provide executive-level insights on market conditions, pipeline trends, and capital markets performance. Partner cross-functionally with Treasury, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and FP&A to build automation, systems, and reporting infrastructure. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team aligned with Betters mission and goals. Qualifications
812+ years of experience in mortgage capital markets, trading, or secondary marketing, ideally in a leadership role. Proven experience managing warehouse facilities, hedge programs, and whole loan / MSR executions. Bachelors degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred). Deep understanding of agency execution, securitization, and hedging instruments Strong analytical and modeling skills; fluency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools. Familiarity with external LOS / PPE systems and capital markets platforms Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership. 250,000 - $300,000 a year.
