Direct Counsel is representing an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a Lead eDiscovery Attorney to join its highly regarded Litigation practice, known for handling high-stakes disputes for innovative clients across the tech and life sciences sectors. The firm’s litigation group includes more than 150 attorneys working collaboratively across offices nationwide. Locations
New York, San Francisco, Silicon Valley (preferred) - other office locations considered Employment type
Full-Time What We’re Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school 7+ years of experience advising and supporting clients through all phases of eDiscovery Deep knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and best practices Expertise with eDiscovery review platforms and technology, including process optimization and adaptability Strong leadership skills, including overseeing Litigation Staff Attorneys, junior lawyers, and external providers Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage complex discovery workflows with a focus on defensibility, efficiency, and risk management Experience negotiating ESI protocols, handling motion practice, and supporting depositions and trials Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment Key Responsibilities
Advise clients and case teams across all phases of eDiscovery: preservation, processing, review, and production Lead ESI protocol negotiations and eDiscovery-related motion practice Provide practical guidance on pre-litigation data governance, records retention, and legal holds Manage workflows to align with risk mitigation, cost control, and case strategy Oversee and train Litigation Staff Attorneys and support staff Collaborate with Practice Support, Innovation, and Attorney Development teams to enhance technology adoption and eDiscovery training Monitor regulatory developments and eDiscovery trends Application Requirements
