We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented

Payroll Associate

with experience in the construction industry to manage payroll processing for field and office employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction payroll practices, including state, federal and local regulations, and multi-state payroll requirements. The Payroll Associate will report to the Payroll Manager at our San Francisco Office. Responsibilities

Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for field and office staff in compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws Collect, review, and verify timesheets, job codes, and cost allocations Ensure proper wage calculations, including overtime, fringe benefits, per diems, and deductions Coordinate with HR to maintain employee payroll records, tax documents, and direct deposit information Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, project managers, and government agencies Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information Assist with audits and prepare supporting documentation as needed Track and manage wage garnishments, child support orders, and other deductions Support union payroll processing and reporting, including dues and benefits remittance (if applicable) Maintain accurate employee records including address changes, tax withholdings, direct deposit information, and benefit elections Process and update 401(k) contributions and commuter benefit selections Monitor and audit employee leave balances and usage Process leave accruals and ensure compliance with company policies Support employees with state disability insurance (SDI) and paid family leave (PFL) claims Serve as liaison with Employment Development Department (EDD) for claims processing Process travel reimbursements and phone allowances according to company policy Support year-end processing including W-2 preparation and distribution Assist with ACA compliance through 1095 form preparation and filing Regular communication with employees and managers to manage timesheet or other issues that arise Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred 1-2 years of payroll/accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry Experience with payroll software – Viewpoint Vista preferred Strong organizational and analytical skills Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity Excellent communication and time-management skills Preferred Skills

Familiarity with union payroll processing and collective bargaining agreements Experience with multi-state payroll and tax filings Understanding of construction accounting software and timekeeping systems Vista and Keystyle Knowledge of ACA compliance and employee benefit tracking Physical Requirements

Full-time direct-hire position located in downtown San Francisco. This role is hybrid, with three days in the office Competitive salary and annual discretionary performance-based bonus Cahill covers 100% of monthly premiums for employee medical/dental/vision coverage for HMO and PPO plans; options for spouse/partner and family coverage Wellness stipend, FSA, and 401(k) with matching and annual discretionary contribution Start date: Immediately The base hourly salary for this non-exempt role is targeted between $38.46 - $52.88.
