We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. This position requires efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and portion ingredients for menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
Follow recipes and production instructions accurately to ensure consistency.
Assist in the preparation of sauces, marinades, and other components as directed.
Stock and organize workstations with necessary supplies for smooth service.
Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
Assist with basic cooking tasks as needed, such as blanching, sautéing, or frying.
Monitor food inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to the kitchen team.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Support line cooks during service by ensuring ingredients and tools are readily available.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by chefs or supervisors.
Requirements:
Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not required; we provide training.
Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic food preparation techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
Team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.
