Senior Counsel – Midstream and Marketing Providing legal support to the business activities of the midstream and marketing segment of Occidental Petroleum Corporation. The segment handles purchasing, marketing, gathering, processing, transportation, and storage of crude oil, condensate, NGL, natural gas, and power. It also involves trading related to its assets, including transportation and storage capacity, investments in similar entities, and supporting Occidental’s low carbon ventures with midstream and marketing issues. Reporting to:

Associate General Counsel for the Midstream and Marketing segment. Primary Responsibilities: Support legal aspects of Occidental's midstream business, including agreements related to crude oil and natural gas gathering, gas processing, midstream infrastructure development, CO2 transportation, and operational issues. Assist with transactional support for acquisition, divestiture, and restructuring of domestic oil and gas assets. Support legal aspects of marketing activities, including contract negotiation and interpretation for physical purchase/sale, exchanges, and transportation/storage via pipeline, truck, rail, and vessels. Provide regulatory advice related to FERC, CFTC, Texas Railroad Commission, and other relevant agencies. Support trade control and credit functions, including broker agreements, credit insurance, and related contracts. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials. State bar membership in good standing. Minimum of 6 years' legal experience, preferably with a leading law firm. Excellent interpersonal, drafting, and analytical skills. Strong commercial mindset and ability to collaborate with senior managers. Experience with midstream and marketing contracts, including physical and trading agreements. Experience with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and trade control processes. Note: Relocation offered is not available; sponsorship of employment-based visas is not provided.
