The Senior Data Engineer consultant role is an incredibly exciting position. You will be working to solve real-world problems by designing cutting edge analytic solutions while surrounded by a team of world class talent. We are looking for individuals who can go into a client and optimize (or re-design) companies data architecture, who are the combination of a change agent, technical leader and passionate about transforming companies for the better. We need someone who is a problem solver, a critical thinker, and is always wanting to go after new things; youll never be doing the same thing twice! Responsibilities Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and deliverables Execute project plan, report progress, identify and resolve problems, and recommend further actions Delegate tasks to appropriate resources as project requirements dictate Design, develop, and deliver audience training and adoption methods and materials
Qualifications
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. Databricks and DBT experience is a plus Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets Ability to interface with multiple other business functions (internally and externally) Desire to build analytical competencies in others within the business Curiosity to ask questions and challenge the status quo Creativity to devise out-of-the-box solutions Ability to travel as needed to meet client requirements
