ABOUT THE ROLE
Join Amrize, a leading supplier of quality construction building materials in the United States. We have immediate openings for a 2nd Shift Haul Truck Driver to support operations at our Millville Quarry located in Millville, WV. This role is crucial for transporting materials and maintaining equipment, working typically from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with possible variations based on business needs.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Safely transports materials, supplies, and equipment between designated locations.
Loads and unloads materials, ensuring loads do not exceed safe capacity.
Maintains an accurate truck log and prepares necessary paperwork.
Performs safety evaluations, checking oil, water, and other essentials prior to hauls.
Adheres to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, prioritizing safety initiatives within the facility.
Communicates effectively during loading and unloading, maintaining safe driving speeds and observing all traffic controls.
Conducts pre-trip safety inspections, reporting any safety issues to the Supervisor.
Performs maintenance to ensure the haul truck is in optimal condition and assists with general plant maintenance and cleanup.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience: Prior experience operating haulage trucks or heavy equipment.
Clear driving record.
5+ years of heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
Understanding of heavy equipment safety protocols, machinery maintenance, and weighing procedures.
Current and valid DOT card.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Excellent oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Basic computer skills are required.
A background in construction is preferred.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Reliable transportation.
Strong safety orientation.
Must be able to work second shift hours as assigned, typically between 1 PM and 11 PM.
Willingness to work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Compliance with all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
