We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounting Data & Reporting Analyst to join our Accounting team. This role will serve as a critical liaison between Accounting and IT, responsible for curating, validating, and analyzing large data sets from our point-of-sale (POS) systems. The Analyst will generate recurring reports, mine data for actionable insights, and ensure data integrity to support accurate inventory and cost accounting. Key Responsibilities Data Curation, Mining & Reporting Develop and maintain recurring POS-based reports, including:
Daily inventory rollforwards Weekly cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations
Analyze large volumes of transactional data to identify trends, anomalies, or discrepancies. Perform data mining to support ad-hoc analysis, audit requests, and operational decisions. Monitor data feeds from POS systems to identify inconsistencies, missing transactions, or integration issues.
Troubleshooting & Collaboration
Investigate and troubleshoot data discrepancies in collaboration with the IT department. Partner with IT to enhance data integrity, reporting automation, and system functionality.
System Integration & Subledger Support
Work closely with the Oracle Inventory subledger owner to ensure accurate mapping and reconciliation between POS and financial systems. Assist with reconciliations and data tie-outs during the month-end close process. Leverage POS reporting against Oracle to monitor and drive accurate POS usage at the store level.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and streamline data workflows. Document and maintain standard operating procedures related to data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in accounting (cost/inventory accounting a plus), data analytics, or a related discipline Proven ability to work with large volumes of data across multiple systems Experience with data mining, transformation, and visualization Strong Excel skills; experience with SQL, Power Query, or other data tools is a plus Familiarity with POS systems and inventory accounting concepts Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP (especially Inventory and GL modules) preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to bridge technical and financial conversations
