Overview
Export Control and Sanctions Specialist for a global chemical manufacturing company, responsible for day-to-day compliance with export control laws in North and South America, including product classification, screening of shipments and partners, export licensing, and adherence to regulations such as ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and BIS. Responsibilities Identify and mitigate export control risks. Maintain classification registry for military and dual-use items. Ensure valid export licenses and proper documentation. Monitor sanctions laws and block non-compliant shipments. Support contract compliance with export control provisions. Report metrics on blocked shipments, license activity, and compliance risks. Deliver compliance training and conduct ITAR-related audits.
Qualifications
Bachelors in Trade Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field. Empowered Official designation or ability to have this designation. In-depth knowledge and experience working with sanctions is required ITAR, EAR, OFAC, BIS, DDTC, DECCS. 5+ years in trade compliance/global operations; 3+ years specifically in export control. Experience using AEB compliance engine software. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. ERP (SAP) and compliance software (AEB) experience preferred. Must be a United States citizen.
Locations & Work Arrangement
Locations: Multiple locations including Tennessee, Texas, and Illinois. Full relocation is available within the US only. This is a hybrid position 3 days in office / 2 days work from home. Salary & Benefits
