Join us in expanding access to justice: one intake, one case, and one client at a time.CCVLP is hiring an Eviction Defense Paralegal to support our attorneys in providing legal representation to tenants in eviction proceedings. This is a hands-on role where youll prepare court filings, assist with client intakes and eligibility screenings, attend hearings with attorneys, and help keep cases on track from start to finish. Youll work closely with the Eviction Defense Senior Paralegal, staff attorneys, and the Director of Housing Justice and Eviction Defense as part of a dedicated team fighting to keep Clark County families housed.The Job Title:This position is titled Paralegal to reflect its case management and direct legal support responsibilities within the Eviction Defense, or Right to Counsel (RTC), program. While the role is not supervisory, it requires independent judgment, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring that clients are fully supported as they move through the eviction process. For the purposes of pay scale, this position is classified as paralegal/legal assistant in alignment with our Wage and Wage Factor policy. The Eviction Defense Paralegal is part of a small, close-knit team committed to tenant rights and access to justice in Clark County.About the Program:The Right to Counsel (RTC) program provides free legal representation to tenants once an eviction case has been filed in court. Our attorneys and paralegals work together to protect tenants rights, prevent homelessness, and ensure that tenants are not navigating the eviction process alone. The RTC program works hand-in-hand with CCVLPs Housing Justice Project (HJP), which helps tenants before a court case is filed. Most of your time will be spent supporting clients and attorneys: conducting intakes, preparing court documents, assisting at hearings, and ensuring communication between clients, attorneys, and the court runs smoothly. Youll also collaborate with community partners, track cases and referrals, and contribute to data reporting and community education efforts.
