Surgery - General Physician

We areseeking an experienced Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician to provide weekendand sporadic weekday call coverage at a Level I Trauma Center in ColoradoSprings, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-acuityhospital environment and work alongside a collaborative cardiovascular andthoracic surgery team.
PositionDetails:

• Hospital-based, Level I Trauma Center
• Coverage includes rounding, admissions, and surgical interventions
• Shift Schedule:
• 24-hour call coverage, 6 AM - 6 AM
• Primarily weekends with some sporadic weekday call coverage
• Patient Population: 100% adult
• Hospital Size: 400 total beds 12 ICU beds
• Average Daily Census:
• 1-2 Admissions
• 8-10 ICU patients
• 1-2 Surgeries

RequiredProcedures:

• General CV/Thoracic Surgery - open procedures
• Coronary artery bypass grafting (on-pump and off-pump)
• Congenital defect repair (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.)
• Valvular repair and replacement
• Aneurysm repair - Cardiac & Aorto-thoracic
• ECMO cannulation and patient stabilization for transfer to Denver academic center
• TAVRs, Lead Extractions, Mitraclips
• Experience with complex aortic work is highly preferred

PreferredSkills/Procedures:

• Acute volume and blood pressure management
• Insertion of central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABPs

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Colorado medical license or active IMLC license
• ACLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
