The Work You Will Do:
Traffic Specialist III-Safety - District Four | Director of Operations District Safety Program
This position will assist with conducting safety assessments, responding to citizen requests, managing safety study consultant contracts and the Local Road Safety Program, and supporting other safety-related activities.

Annual Salary Range:
$59,159.39 - $76,559.22
A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,976.00 will be added to the annual salary.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Develop and review engineering reports and studies. This includes preparing and disseminating the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) tracking reports, study documentation and presentation of findings and conclusions, analysis of engineering data, and coordination of resources necessary to produce reports.
Develop and manage professional and contractual service contracts, and other types of agreements that support traffic operations. This includes project management responsibilities associated with procuring contracts, issuing task work orders, reviewing contract deliverables, reviewing and processing invoices, coordinating Department personnel and other agencies associated with work under the contract, preparing contract correspondence, maintaining project files and actively participating in project meetings.
Participate in meetings, on committees, task teams and other groups with internal and external customers to represent traffic engineering interests. Includes providing useful commentary and review of work products as well as developing correspondence and follow-up contact as needed.
Serves as an advisor on the Traffic Operations Safety Committees within the District along with development of Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and local municipalities Safety Support Plan.

Traffic engineering principles and practices
Management principles and practices
Traffic operations analysis and study techniques
Floridas Strategic Highway Safety Plan
Skills in:
Effective written and oral communications
Interpreting and disseminating traffic engineering related data
Use of personal computers
Ability to:
Collect, analyze and interpret engineering data
Manage workload to produce on time resolutions to problems
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & Outlook
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma and two years of engineering, traffic studies, or traffic safety experience. An associates degree can substitute for the required experience.
