This vital role involves providing high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers during labor and delivery, as well as caring for high-risk patients with complex medical conditions. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, including monitoring fetal heart rates and implementing appropriate interventions.- Perform advanced skills such as Cesarean sections, inductions, and care for bariatric patients and other high-risk conditions.- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain a safe delivery environment.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system with a strong focus on Epic experience.- Assist in education and support for patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns before, during, and after delivery. Qualifications: - Current nursing licensure and certification in the state of practice.- Advanced certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).- National Certification Corporation or Intermediate AWHONN certification issued within the past 3 years (proof of class registration for AWHONN certification may be uploaded at the time of submission).- Labor and delivery experience with a strong background in high-risk scenarios preferred.- Ability to float to other units as needed to promote teamwork and patient care.- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
