Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Plant Controller to lead financial operations at a manufacturing facility. This role supports strategic decision-making, ensures financial accuracy, and partners with operational leaders to drive performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, has a strong grasp of cost accounting, and brings a proactive mindset to process improvement and compliance.

Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold all workplace safety programs and protocols.
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Provide financial insights and reporting to plant and corporate leadership teams.
  • Track and report on the progress and status of capital investment projects.
  • Assist in evaluating and justifying major capital expenditures.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts; monitor and analyze variances throughout the year.
  • Maintain and review standard overhead and labor rates to ensure accurate cost accounting.
  • Lead and support physical inventory processes, including planning and execution.
  • Coordinate efforts for annual external audits, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Contribute to corporate insurance renewal processes as needed.
  • Complete ad hoc financial and operational analysis projects as assigned.
  • Design and implement metrics to monitor operational performance and efficiency.
  • Strengthen financial decision-making through development and enforcement of policies and controls.
  • Safeguard company assets through robust internal control systems.
  • Support and mentor finance team members, including participation in hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial goals and initiatives are achieved.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA certification is a plus, but not required with relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting preferred.
