Overview Cyber/Data/Privacy Attorney: 4th-6th year (lit) – Cooley LLP is seeking a midlevel associate focusing on litigation and/or regulatory enforcement investigations involving privacy and data security matters. Positions available in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
Concentrate on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies) and/or defend data privacy and security class actions (e.g., Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, data breach class actions). Engage directly with clients and lead significant projects with general tech fluency. Demonstrate impeccable analytical and writing skills. Qualifications
4–6 years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving privacy/data security matters, or defense of data privacy and security class actions. High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school. Ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects. Strong analytical and writing abilities and general tech fluency. Compensation and Benefits The expected annual pay range is $310,000 – $390,000. Final offer amount depends on geographic location, experience, and skillset. Elective benefits include medical/dental/vision, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, pre-tax commuter benefits, life insurance, AD&D, long-term care coverage, and parental/childcare support benefits. Firm-paid life insurance, LTD, and short-term medical benefits are provided, plus vacation (4 weeks/year), sick leave (2 weeks/year), and 10 paid holidays.
