Overview Quarles & Brady LLP seeks a Biotech Patent Agent or Scientist to join our dynamic national Intellectual Property group practice in any of our offices, but Madison, Milwaukee, or Chicago are preferred. A Ph.D. in the fields of life sciences or biology is required, preferably with experience in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, virology, microbiology and plant molecular biology/genetics. Candidates with 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience are preferred. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong academic record paired with the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to succeed at this firm. Qualified applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, undergraduate and graduate school transcripts, and a writing sample no more than 5 pages in length of legal or scientific writing.

Compensation and benefits Quarles & Brady offers competitive salaries, bonus and great benefits to employees including paid time off, health, vision, dental, 401k, life, disability and much more. Benefit eligibility is dependent on hours. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience, education and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The range for this position for individuals physically located in Chicago and Washington D.C. is $100,000 to $140,000. The range for this position for individuals physically located in Denver, Indianapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Naples, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, Tampa, and Tucson is $100,000 to $130,000.
