Responsibilities
Supports the Board of Directors on Corporate Financial Management including, but not limited to, dividend policy, capital structure, corporate governance, and strategic initiatives.
Reviews the bank's investment portfolio while making buy/hold/sell recommendations to the CEO.
Facilitates Management level ALCO and Board level Finance Committee meetings. Reports on areas pertaining to interest rate risk, liquidity, sources and use of funds, and overall comparison of financial metrics to bank policy guidelines. Recommends actions to address financial risks.
Creates and maintains the annual budget (with monthly detail), and reports to the Board on the bank's financial performance vs. the approved budget and self-identified peers.
Seeks and implements continuous efficiencies leveraging technology and automation where feasible and valuable.
Conducts quantitative data analysis and financial modeling (e.g., branch profitability, loan portfolio parameters, deposit portfolio parameters, product profitability).
Identifies, measures, monitors, and controls the model for ACL estimation, CECL calculation, and general economic review related to potential credit loss outlook.
Oversees and enhances the bank's corporate credit card relationship, for employees and the bank as a whole.
Maintains and implements policies related to Accounting & Finance functions of the bank.
Oversees the bank's accounts payable process and incoming/outgoing wire transfers (domestic and international).
Manages the bank's BOLI portfolio and key relationships pertaining to Accounting and Finance for the bank.
Completes continuing education to stay updated on regulations and best practices for areas under responsibility.
Ensures compliance with BSA and OFAC requirements.
Promotes an environment that supports diversity and upholds the bank's core values.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting with CPA and/or MBA.
Ten-plus years in a financial leadership capacity in a financial institution or independent mortgage banker; SEC and mortgage industry experience preferred.
Proven sustained success in previous high-level management and leadership roles.
Demonstrated ability to discern market forces and develop profitable business strategies.
Expertise in banking regulations and related operations with success in balancing operational efficiency and regulatory expectations.
Experience managing corporate governance matters and communicating with boards of directors and shareholders.
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational and leadership skills.
