Specialize in Medium Voltage customer substation design
Interfacing with Bay Area Utilities, incorporating utility requirements, interconnect agreements & service requests
Possess the ability to understand project requirements and develop a design fee for the work requested
Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources
Oversee Engineers, Designers and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work
Communicate with Project Manager (PM) or Executive regarding effort required to accomplish expected deliverables and project support, including developing requests for additional services for submittal to the PM or Owner
Lead the Engineering CAC effort and interaction with the project PM
Able to resolve a variety of complex problems (e.g., conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements)
Supervise the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials, and other regulatory agencies
Attend project design meetings with the overall Design Build Team
Visit job sites to review installation or assess current conditions
Perform Value Engineering studies
Act as Engineer of Record for projects within responsibility
The duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and scope of the role; other responsibilities may be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit
What you bring to us
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required for this position
BESS experience is preferred
Field experience is strongly recommended
Education and experience can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

What you’ll need to be successful
Knowledge of engineering processes and calculations including load calculations, equipment layout, normal and emergency standby distribution, HV/MV distribution, lighting layout, lighting calculations, power and lighting controls, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards
Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning
Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others
Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems
Ability to oversee Electrical System Studies such as Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop/Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations
Management skills including work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, staff development and advancement planning
Knowledge of electrical construction sufficient to understand how design packages will be built
Fluency with Building Codes and Local Codes in the local area of projects
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, trade partners and others
Travel
up to 25% (does not include local field visits)
Working Conditions
General work environment - sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; indoor with varying environmental conditions
Noise level typically low to medium; can be loud on a job site
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs

Pay Range
$133,600.00-$175,400.00 Annual
