Overview The incoming executive director will set the future direction for the Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach (CMSPB) at an exciting moment of growth. The ED will work closely with the board and the Artistic Director to define a strategic plan encompassing organizational growth, external relations, financial and operational sustainability, and programming. The ideal candidate is a compelling and visionary leader with a proven ability to inspire teams, forge effective partnerships, and drive sustainable growth.

The organization is a presenting partner of the Boscobel Chamber Music Festival in New York, and runs programs such as the Rising Artists residency to support emerging musicians and provide performance and career development opportunities. Strategic Leadership Collaborate with the Artistic Director and board to shape CMSPB’s future, finalize the strategic plan, and set targets for impact. Communicate the organization’s vision to internal and external stakeholders and align work and partnerships with goals. Grow CMSPB’s reach, visibility, programs, and budget. Set clear, measurable goals to sustain and expand CMSPB’s influence locally and nationally. Nurture external relationships with sponsors, venues, and community organizations to broaden CMSPB’s reach and programs. Fundraising and External Relations Work with fundraising consultants and the board to maintain a comprehensive fundraising plan. Act as a compelling spokesperson to discuss CMSPB’s work and inspire appreciation for chamber music across audiences. Develop and sustain relationships with funders, partners, performers, and other presenters; be an engaged presence in Palm Beach and the region. Articulate CMSPB’s identity and expand recognition locally and nationally as a leader in chamber music. Financial and Operational Leadership Develop and oversee infrastructure and team needs to support programs and strategic goals. Oversee implementation of a competitive employee benefits program to attract and retain talent. Foster a positive, collaborative culture and HR practices that support staff development. Ensure healthy, sustainable finances managed with best practices. Board Relations Collaborate with an engaged board to set strategic direction. Build strong relationships with board members and align contributions with organizational needs. Help attract and retain new board members to advance the mission and vision. Strengthen board systems and structures to maximize impact. Qualifications Experience – Required Significant executive leadership experience in a similar or related organization. Proven track record of setting a vision and executing it with a board, staff, and stakeholders. Comfortable being the primary external representative with media, donors, and partners. Hands-on fundraising experience and ability to build diverse stakeholder relationships. Experience setting organizational vision and building staff structures and budgets to achieve it. Experience developing and managing a board of trustees. Experience setting and managing budgets and revenue streams. Personal or professional connection to/passion for chamber music. Experience – Preferred Prior experience in a chamber music, classical music, or performing arts organization. Connection to and/or understanding of the Palm Beach/Southern Florida area and audience. Personal Attributes Entrepreneurial mindset and strong business sense. Commitment to CMSPB’s mission with passion for live music and community outreach/education. Ability to operate strategically while being grounded in team work. Strong written and verbal communication to engage the Palm Beach community. Emotional intelligence and ability to engage diverse audiences including staff, board, partners, funders, and community members in Palm Beach and beyond. Compensation Anticipated salary is $175K - $200K, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
