Field Service Engineer – Austin, TX Area Location : Austin, TX (Field-based within a 50-mile radius) Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Employment Type : Direct Hire Salary Range : $60,000 – $85,000 (Depending on Experience) Benefits Overview : This position offers a competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth in a dynamic, technology-driven environment. We’re seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to support customers in the Austin area with installation, maintenance, and optimization of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) automation equipment. This role combines hands-on technical work with remote customer support and offers a dynamic mix of field service and home-based troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities :

Install, configure, and start up SMT automation systems Perform retrofits, upgrades, and custom modifications Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and process issues Provide remote and on-site support to minimize customer downtime Conduct operator and maintenance training Advise on preventive maintenance and process optimization Prepare detailed service reports and technical documentation Track reliability and contribute to process improvements Act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications :

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field preferred

Experience:

Prior experience with SMT automation equipment (Fuji preferred) Strong diagnostic and repair skills in mechanical and electrical systems

Technical Proficiency:

Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Familiarity with mechatronic systems and Windows-based environments

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently and travel extensively
