Real Estate Paralegal – Job Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support our legal team with all aspects of real estate transactions. In this role, you’ll manage files, resolve title issues, draft legal documents, and assist with closings—delivering high-quality service at a lower billable rate than an attorney.
Key Responsibilities
Billable Work:
Research property ownership and collect transaction documents
Resolve title issues (easements, liens, tax matters, etc.)
Confirm payoff amounts for mortgages, taxes, and judgments
Prepare and review title and closing documents
Communicate with lenders, agents, attorneys, and clients
Draft letters, contracts, and standard legal forms
Help attorneys prepare for closings and schedule key events
Maintain organized transaction files
Non-Billable Tasks:
Answer and return calls; schedule notaries and couriers
Process mail, scan/copy documents, manage office supplies
Assist with client intake and CRM updates
Daily Workflow:
Review calendar reminders and prioritize workload
Respond to emails and client inquiries
Track and clear title requirements
Prepare for meetings and closings
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
High school diploma required; college degree preferred
3+ years of experience in real estate closings or as a paralegal
Strong knowledge of title work, closings, and document preparation
Must pass background check (credit, criminal, employment)
Skills:
Excellent communication and client service skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Reliable, self-motivated, and professional
Handles confidential information with discretion
