The Associate Director of Youth Ministries at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church will collaborate closely with the Director of Youth Ministries to fulfill our Youth Mission: to foster a relationship with Christ among youth, guiding them to become lifelong disciples who worship God, serve others, and love their neighbors. This role involves providing structure for the spiritual and emotional growth of youth, utilizing organizational skills and passion for youth to develop a healthy, relationship-based ministry.
Key Responsibilities include:
Communication:
Collaborate on weekly youth program updates, select and distribute curriculum, attend church staff meetings, coordinate with volunteers and leaders, oversee communication with parents, and manage registration for trips and retreats. Leadership:
Teach and guide youth in faith, plan and lead retreats and events, oversee facilities, and manage the church basketball league. Planning and Vision:
Develop worship, service, study, and fellowship opportunities; oversee the Christian Formation Plan; work with the Youth Ministry Support Team to align with the ministrys blueprint and goals. Relationship and Presence:
Attend worship services and retreats, build relationships with students and volunteers, pray for the ministry, and adhere to the Safe Sanctuaries Policy. Qualifications:
A growing relationship with Christ, passion for youth ministry, strong organizational skills, and leadership experience in a church or related field. Education includes a Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of youth ministry experience. Skills in technology, social media, and music are preferred.
