The Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a seasoned

Grants Manager

with experience in needs assessment, grants administration, corporate outreach, individual and memorial gifts, and public/private partnerships. The desired candidate will have experience submitting grant applications, writing proposals, be able to research grant opportunities, as well as have proven success solidifying partnerships as it relates to growing the business and using those partnerships to further define the mission. Examples of Important Duties Needs Assessment/Research/Technical Writing Review departmental needs through budget meetings and documents, division meetings, supervisor, and director communications. Compile research on grant opportunities, share by email, at staff meetings, and through grant workshops and training, Assist staff in preparation of grant applications and proposals, provide organizational information and documents, review and edit grant proposals, assist with legal review and signatures. Prepare Grants and Partnerships Office newsletter for quarterly distribution. Coordinate and lead the department's Grants Committee with staff representing each division. Grants Administration

Develop Annual Fundraising Plan for the Department of Parks and Recreation Research and disseminate grant opportunities. Establish grant account codes, route, and track all grants agreements and contracts. Track grant awards using Excell/Access charts and implement new fundraising tracking database. Partnerships and Corporate Outreach

Promote partnership opportunities with the Department of Parks and Recreation including support of public events and programs. Review proposals for partnership and track through process with individual divisions and staff. Attend partnership meetings and represent M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation with community wide coalitions and collaborations. Lead and conduct outreach and development, track gifts, and serve as a liaison to corporate contracts. Public/Private Partnerships

Research and provide reports on partnerships to assist in revenue enhancement. Assist with MOU documents and agreements for corporate and private gifts and donations. Commemorative Gifts/Dedication Programs

Work with the public on coordinating the selection and purchase of memorial benches and tree dedications in our parks Send information of gift options, estimate cost, estimate production time and estimate timeframe of process Process new orders for commemorative gifts with vendors Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience creating and managing the grants and proposal strategies for a mission-driven organization Track record of success in grant writing and proposal development Experience coordinating grant-writing teams and partnerships Experience with government, corporate and foundation grants, and contracts Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Thorough understanding of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and budgeting principles. At least 4 to 5 years' experience in grants writing and/ or management. Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities. Proficient in time and resource management. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. High caliber written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Finance, Business or any related field. 2. Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resource Management, finance or any related field. 3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total 8 years. Supplemental Information

2025 BENEFIT SUMMARY FOR MERIT SYSTEM EMPLOYEES

The following benefit summary is provided for informational purposes only and is not, nor should be construed as an employment agreement with the M-NCPPC, implied or actual. It is not all-inclusive and is subject to change. Benefits listed are extended to all Merit System employees of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). All plans are optional except the Defined Benefit and Long-Term Disability plans.

Eligibility You have 45 days from your hire date to elect your benefits. Your coverage begins on the first of the month following receipt of your enrollment forms and required documentation.

Retirement Programs

Defined Benefit Plan (Mandatory Participation) - Plan E excludes FOP members.

Plan C 9.5%* of base salary (FOP members only) Plan E 4% of base salary up to maximum Social Security Wage Base (SSWB) and 8% in excess of SSWB.

Health Insurance Plans (FOP Members Pay 23% for Medical, Prescription and Dental and same as all other employees for Vision.) All other employees pay percentage below.

Kaiser Permanente Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) with Prescription Plan - (15%) UnitedHealthcare Select Exclusive Provider Organization Health Plan (EPO) - (20%) UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus Point of Service (POS) - (20%)

Prescription - CVS Caremark - (15%) Dental - Delta Dental PPO and DeltaCare USA HMO - (20%) Vision - EyeMed - (80% of Low Option plan paid by Commission. Any balance paid by employee.)

Low, moderate, and high options are available. Frequency of covered services differs.

Flexible Spending Accounts (Employee Pays 100%)

Medical Account - Maximum annual contribution: $3,200 Dependent Care Account - Maximum annual contribution: $5,000

Long-Term Disability Insurance (Mandatory Participation)

Employee Pays 20%: Commission Pays 80% (FOP Members Pay 100%) Benefits paid at 66 2/3% of base salary, maximum of $6,000/month

Supplemental Long-Term Disability Insurance (Employee Pays 100%)

Benefits paid at 66 2/3% of base salary that exceeds $108,000; capped at $216,000

Basic Life and AD&D Insurance (Employee Pays 20%: Commission Pays 80%)

Two (2) times base salary; maximum benefit is $200,000 for each Automatic coverage with opt-out provision

Supplemental and Spouse/Dependent Life Insurance (Employee Pays 100%)

Supplemental - 1,2,3,4, or 5 times base salary; maximum benefit is $750,000 Spouse/Dependent Combination - $10,000/$5,000, $20,000/$10,000, or $30,000/$15,000

Sick Leave Bank (Contribution and Benefit hours prorated for part-time employees)

Employees have 60 days from date of hire to enroll. Employee contributes 8 leave hours each year Annually covers up to 688 hours for own serious medical condition, and 480 hours for parental responsibilities (birthadoption or foster care), and 80-160 hours for serious medical condition of an immediate family member

Leave Programs
