The Department works with business, banking and legal communities to strengthen our state's economy with a state-of-the-art system of reliable business and governmental records. We also safeguard individuals and businesses against fraud. The primary responsibilities of this position is to provide lead worker guidance for the registration services for Uniform Commercial Code Filings, Federal Tax Lien filings, Notary Applications/amendment filings and Land Records Filings. Registration services include: incoming/outgoing mail sorting and distribution, document scanning, data entry, data entry verification, bogus UCC filing review and alphabetizing/organizing documents & folders. This position may also be responsible for creating a variety of customer correspondence documents including: UCC and Notary rejection notices, Notary courtesy notifications, notices to collect additional information for completion of Notary applications with criminal history actions, Notary seal destruction, resignation and cancellation notices.

This position may be eligible for an alternate worksite arrangement in accordance with the Secretary of State's Teleworking Policy Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Management Preferences: Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to make decisions on how to address customer's requests Ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to accurately and efficiently interpret, apply and communicate a variety on statutes, regulations, policies and procedures Ability to determine which actions are within their scope of authority and fall outside legally permissible behaviors

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
