Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Materials Manager role in Firebaugh.

Key Responsibilities: • Manage non-finished goods inventory operations, including ingredients, packaging, dunnage, chemicals, and consumables. • Ensure lot traceability and chain of custody of all ingredients. • Oversee non-conforming material handling and base material selection for remanufacturing. • Develop and maintain inventory control processes to minimize obsolete materials and optimize inventory levels. • Implement and enforce FIFO methodology across all materials to ensure product quality and compliance with budgetary and contractual requirements. • Manage the timely receipt, documentation, and proper storage of ingredients, packaging, supplies, and other raw materials. • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct audits, and ensure ERP system (PeopleSoft) matches physical stock. • Monitor cycle counts, adjustments, and KPIs to track and improve inventory performance. • Train, guide, and develop staff to achieve complete accuracy in inventory control processes. • Implement and manage MRP/replenishment programs. • Investigate variances, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions. • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, purchasing, quality, accounting, and supply chain teams to improve processes and reduce costs. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including ROI and cost-benefit analysis for new projects. • Promote and maintain a safe work environment in compliance with safety, HR, and environmental policies.
Qualifications: • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or Materials Management required; Bachelor's preferred. • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing industry experience, including 3 years in food processing, materials management, or MRP/replenishment systems. • At least 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment. • Strong knowledge of warehousing, inventory management (including FIFO), and ERP systems (PeopleSoft preferred). • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ability to learn specialized materials software. • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large datasets. • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. • Experience with SAP, ISO900X, Six Sigma, QOS, or similar quality systems a plus.
Work Environment: • Plant manufacturing and office setting with exposure to extreme temperatures, water, chemicals, and moderate noise. • Regular exposure to forklifts, shuttle traffic, and diesel trucks. • Seasonal extended work schedules (July-October). • Must be comfortable working in environments with humidity, chlorine odors, and sanitation-related airborne particles.
