The Sr. Plant Accountant supports two manufacturing locations, Itasca IL and Addison IL. The key activities of the position include the following items to support the Plant Controller: Manage and support all general accounting, cost accounting, plant accounts payable, and fixed asset activities. Analyze and report on financial and operational results. Prepare financial plans, forecasts, and outlooks. Provide direct support to plant management team in a variety of financial, accounting, and operational areas. Support and maintain internal controls functions of the plant. Maintains intercompany relationships with other divisional operating locations and offices. Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Management/Analysis: Provide financial direction/support to site manager/core management teams. Prepare financial analysis to monitor spending in key areas (labor, scrap, spending, inventory, etc.) Maintain active participation in plant operations including safety and quality initiatives. Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls and ensure compliance with division policies and procedures. Participate and facilitate cost reduction/elimination programs/ideas. Reporting/Accounting: Accurate and timely financial reporting of plant results (monthly, quarterly, and annually) Assist in the development of annual plant budget and weekly forecasts. Support physical inventory reporting and cycle count analysis. Prepare various financial models, as appropriate; prepare balance sheet account reconciliations. General ledger transactional processing and journal entry creation Specific Duties: Participate in month-end close activities (create journal entries, prepare standard financial and operational reports, and analyze/report monthly plant performance) Analyze plant labor, scrap, spending, and inventory transactions for optimal manufacturing levels Fixed asset accounting including asset additions, transfers, and disposals. Gather information relative to cost/benefit analysis and other plant financial initiatives. Review Freight Payable on a monthly basis. Process debit/credit memo transactions (customer returns/claims, scrap/regrind shipments) and intercompany transfers. Prepare sales and use and other tax returns. Participate in customer and segment profitability reviews. Assist the Plant Controller as required. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Plant Manufacturing and cost accounting experience, preferred. Functional SAP experience preferred. Proficiency in Excel and Windows applications. Outstanding communication skills interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Ability to prioritize work, set goals, and meet deadlines. Demonstrated analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Travel 5-10%. Compensation

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $74,100 to $92,600; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $74,100 to $111,100 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
