Senior Data Developer
Deephaven Mortgage has been a pioneer and leader in non-QM since our origin in 2012. Deephaven is comprised of two lending platforms. Our wholesale channel offers loans through a network of over 1,000 independent mortgage brokers. Our correspondent channel buys loans from over 200 correspondent partners. Deephaven's headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Senior Data Developer is responsible for supporting the business through business intelligence solutions leveraging the MS BI Platform (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI). They are responsible for developing data products and solutions for the organization including the design, development, testing and implementation of databases, data sets, business intelligence, and analytics solutions. Additionally, the role implements configuration and support of data solutions. This role is hybrid in office 2+ days a week in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC. What You'll Do Design, build, install, configure, and support data solutions, maintaining security and data privacy Conduct performance turning or optimization of data solutions along with testing and support Collect data utilizing various analytical and reporting tools and setting up and maintaining new studies related to departmental KPI's, and specific departmental trending Use analytical tools to create statistical models for various business needs Normalize and de-normalize data into a format that permits a wider range of analysis without interruption to production server performance Develop complex SQL stored procedures, views, functions and queries Create a variety of complex reports using BI tools such as Power BI or SQL Server Reporting Services, including but not limited to drill down, drill through, tabular, matrix, dashboard, multi parameters reports, etc. Build and support ETL pipelines across a variety of upstream sources and source types Provide advice and guidance on database good practices, and input on systems architecture Establishes internal controls and processes to reduce reporting inaccuracies and improve efficiency Ensure adherence to the implementation of effective governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks Manage issues to mitigate impact and risk by early detection of risk items and active team involvement Establish and manage code pipelines and repositories according to SDLC best practice Ability to work a hybrid schedule in office in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte, NC What We Need Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or 5+ years of equivalent Data Engineering and Development experience Minimum 5 years of experience in data warehouse and ETL development, including dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology) Proven expertise with the SQL Server platform, including T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS Hands-on experience with Power BI and other modern data analytics/visualization tools Strong working knowledge of cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms; AWS or Azure preferred Familiarity with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Python or C# Demonstrated ability to align data solutions with organizational strategy and translate business vision into actionable priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly Thrives in high-energy, collaborative team environments focused on delivering results Adaptable and comfortable managing ambiguity in evolving business needs Quick learner with a continuous improvement mindset Commitment to adhering to all corporate policies and compliance standards Our Perks Flexible Time to Recharge Personalized Time Off for What Matters (because rest isn't one-size fits all) Future Finance Focused Generous employer-matched 401(k) plan Community Connect Philanthropy Committee that creates charitable initiatives Health from Day One Comprehensive health insurance starting on day one of employment Family Matters Competitive maternity and paternity leave Culture & Celebrations Culture Committee with team-building events and celebrations Ideas Welcome Encouraging thought leadership and innovation Guidance & Growth Mentorship opportunities for career development Perk Up Exclusive discounts on travel, tech, pets, legal, and more
