Overview
The Application Engineer is responsible to prepare technical and commercial proposals in compliance with customers requirements/specifications, provide best application solutions to customers and manage the bidding process in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers. Responsibilities
Generates equipment technical scopes and commercial proposals and provides a coherent unitary bid package for customer review. Reviews project/application specifications, equipment requirements, equipment selections, cost estimates and project schedules. Recommends and assists Sales on technical application solutions based on specific customers requirements and challenges. Specifies size and selects engineered systems and/or equipment in accordance with customer-supplied specifications and/or performance requirements. Reviews customer-supplied Terms and Conditions with the legal team to ensure compliance with the companys contractual policies. Generates detailed cost analyses for custom engineered equipment and systems, including compilation of purchased subcomponents, labor, field service, and manufacturing costs from archived records, outside vendors, and other sources as necessary. Generates equipment pricing from cost estimates, ensuring proper margins and commissions. Maintains compliance with the companys required monetary level of approvals and signoffs. Maintains and controls latest equipment price lists and validity, including vendors price lists. Defines and supports regulatory issues with sales or service projects. Works with Sales, Engineering and Operations in the review of project plans and specifications. Prepares handover material/documents of awarded projects to Project Management, Engineering and Operations. Attends technical meetings with customers during the tendering process. Travel to customer sites as needed. Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions. Qualifications
The ability to communicate technically and commercially with management, sales, legal, vendors, clients engineers. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Familiar with Salesforce. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work in a diverse team environment. Self-motivated and proactive. Education and/or Experience
BS degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
