Primary Responsibilities:
HDR's Bridge Engineer will: apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to bridge design and development; select bridge engineering/design procedures; develop structural details using specialized software such as Microstation, MathCAD, AutoCAD, CSiBridge, LARSA, and LEAP; work on projects that include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, reinforced concrete, segmental, and cable), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects; participate in bridge inspections; perform structural load calculations; assist with geometric layout and quantity development; and review and assign work and check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and engineers-in-training as needed.
Required Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 3 years of experience in bridge engineering
or
a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in bridge engineering.
Required experience must include experience in: s tructural analysis and design of highway bridges and related structures; performing structural load calculations and quantity development; seismic analysis/design; Finite Element Modeling (FEM), including use of CSiBridge and Midas; and software packages MathCAD, PGSuper, LPile, and Bluebeam.
Must hold Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (from any US jurisdiction).
NOTE: All HDR positions in the US may be subject to background checks and/or pre-employment drug testing.
Pay Range:
$138,590 to $172,900 annually.
