We are hiring a Senior Credit Analyst who will be responsible for managing the company’s financial risk of extending credit for specific business units and ensuring customers adhere to payment terms.

Key Accountabilities

Manage credit and collection activities for a portfolio of business units, including processing new credit applications by reviewing credit data and approving credit limits for new and existing customers up to $1M. Ensure compliance with payment terms, timely dispute resolution, and perform account reconciliation by reviewing aging reports weekly. Coordinate with sales and operations for corrective action plans. Address delinquent payments by contacting customers and working with sales and account coordinators for dispute resolution. Monitor for signs of financial problems and report action plans to mitigate risk. Prepare and follow through on payment schedules for customers requiring temporary extended payment plans. Validate orders placed on hold by the ERP system at order entry; ensure credit exposure for ongoing customers remains within approved limits. Build and strengthen relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Review financials with assistance from the immediate manager. Prepare monthly reports of past due accounts and other required reports. Negotiate in complex customer situations with minimal guidance and drive results to completion. Recommend and implement credit and operational processes and procedures for continuous improvements by collaborating with various departments and leveraging technology where appropriate. Provide accurate customer trade references and accept responsibility for higher credit risks and complex customer relationships. Prepare credit-related training materials and conduct training sessions for organization members. Promote sales growth while protecting customer relationships from credit and collection actions. Meet or exceed KPI goals (DSO, % current, cash collections forecast, bad debt expense, cost savings). Periodically present monthly results to Corporate staff.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business or finance required. Minimum five to seven years of commercial credit and collection experience. Minimum two years of entry-level leadership experience; ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team; capable of guiding, inspiring, and motivating others toward shared goals. Strong knowledge of accounting, financial statements, and bankruptcy concepts. Excellent follow-up, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and urgency; strong interpersonal and time management skills. Independent work capability and ability to collaborate with others with minimal supervision. Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid business judgment and knowledge of credit and collection tools and techniques. Ability to communicate to large audiences and motivate credit team members.

Working Environment

Hybrid Schedule Office Environment Limited travel is required

IL Base Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $91,000 USD
