Senior Mechanical Engineer P.E. – Competitive Salary, Bonus, Benefits, Work/Life Balance
Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $155,000.00/yr
We are a leading multi-disciplinary Engineering firm in the mid-Atlantic. We design mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for public and private clientele. The firm emphasizes a collaborative design process with a value-based design approach that balances client objectives, aesthetics, and operational functions. Headquartered in the Baltimore area with a satellite office in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, working directly with Principals and Directors
Client facing; lead meetings with clients and contractors
Design HVAC systems, participate in the full design process from schematics through construction administration
Prepare detailed mechanical engineering design calculations and drawings
Coordinate HVAC design requirements with architecture, structure, and other disciplines
Develop HVAC designs from concept through construction completion
Support business development efforts and assist in RFP processes
Engage with government/federal projects, civic/public works, healthcare, and higher-education sectors as appropriate
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school
Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desired
Security clearance preferred, not required
8 to 10+ years of experience in an MEP or engineering consulting firm designing HVAC building systems on complex projects
Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
Experience with government/federal projects, civic/public sector, healthcare, higher education
Ability to develop HVAC designs from concept through construction
Strong client interaction skills and ability to foster relationships
Ability to support business development and RFP processes
Active participation in community or industry organizations
Desired (Not Required)
Experience and interest in sustainable building design
LEED AP or LEED GA with related experience
Understanding of architectural design processes and collaboration with architects
