Job Position: Landscape Shop Mechanic
We are a fast-growing outdoor landscape company looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our team! If you’re experienced, reliable, and have a passion for keeping equipment in top shape, we want to hear from you.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a wide range of landscaping equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Conduct inspections to identify worn or damaged parts
Handle emergency repairs quickly to minimize equipment downtime
Maintain and repair:
Trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, edgers
Skid steers, loaders, plow trucks, dump truck
Trailers (axles, brakes, lights)
Snow removal equipment (plows, spreaders)
Shop & Inventory Duties:
Track maintenance schedules and service logs for all equipment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
Manage and order parts and supplies as needed
Keep accurate inventory of tools and replacement parts
Suggest equipment upgrades or replacements when needed
Team & Support Tasks:
Communicate with crew leads about equipment issues or maintenance needs
Train field staff on basic equipment care and operation
Occasionally assist with transporting equipment to job sites or vendors
Support winter operations with snow equipment prep and on-call repairs
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all equipment meets safety standards
Keep up with EPA and OSHA regulations related to shop and equipment
Conduct pre-season safety checks and documentation
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience with light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and small equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and solid problem-solving skills
Experience working with gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and single, double, and tri-axle trailers
Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work flexible hours (especially during winter)
Requirements:
Valid, clean driver’s license (Class A preferred, or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
Must have your own tools (some tools provided)
Pass a pre-employment drug test
